Our Process
From Order to Delivery
Every order placed with British Made Shutters follows a carefully managed production process through our Worcestershire manufacturing facility – from initial verification through to final delivery.
Order Verification
Once your order is placed, our team verifies the details to make sure everything is correct and ready for manufacture.
Once payment has been received, your order automatically moves into
Ready to Manufacture and joins our production schedule.
Production Planning
Our system automatically organises orders by their manufacturing requirements, including range, stile type, Beaded or Non-Beaded specification, colour and any products requiring painting.
Your order is then allocated a date to enter the shop floor.
Precision CNC Cutting
Production lists are automatically generated for our CNC machinery, allowing the components for each made-to-measure order to be precision cut.
Once cut, components are
manually checked by our production team before moving to the next stage.
Component Preparation
Every part of the shutter is prepared for assembly.
Panels are marked out for hinges, magnets and tensioning, while louvres are pinned, rails are prepared and notched, and the remaining components are cut and prepared to the individual order specification.
Assembly & Finishing
The prepared components are assembled into the finished shutter panels.
Panels then move through finishing, where the required hinges, magnets, tilt mechanisms and other components are fitted.
At the same time, the corresponding made-to-measure frames are prepared and fitted with their required components.
Quality Control
Before an order can leave production, the panels and frames go through our Quality Control process.
We check the completed shutters against the order specification before releasing them for packing.
Carefully Packed
Once approved, the complete order moves to our boxing department.
Panels are securely boxed, frames are packed separately, and a fitting pack is prepared and placed with the corresponding frame.
Each package is labelled and matched back to the individual order ready for dispatch.
Collection & Delivery
Once every production stage is complete, your order is automatically added to our courier collection schedule.
When your order is collected from our Worcestershire facility, you’ll receive an email confirming dispatch.
Delivery is normally
within 3 working days of collection, with a further email sent the day before your scheduled delivery.
Ordered by you. Manufactured by us. Quality checked, carefully packed and delivered ready for installation.
Manufacturing
Every order is assembled and quality checked at our Worcestershire factory, where we oversee every stage of production. This ensures consistent quality, reliable lead times and complete confidence in every shutter we supply.
Reinforced
Every louvre features an internal aluminium reinforcement, providing exceptional strength and rigidity. This helps prevent warping and twisting while delivering smooth, reliable operation for years to come.
Moisture Resistant
Manufactured from premium moisture-resistant composite, our shutters are ideal for kitchens, bathrooms and other high-humidity environments. They won’t absorb moisture like traditional timber, making them a durable, low-maintenance solution.
