Our NEW Slim Line Shutter,
DESIGNED In Britain
The Slim Line shutter represents a major step forward in shutter innovation, combining sleek design with advanced functionality. It features a fully reinforced louvre that delivers exceptional strength and long-term durability, along with a premium anti-scratch paint finish that keeps your shutters looking pristine for longer. As part of our design refinement, we’re reducing the dimensions of our stiles and astragal by 10.8mm, including the square stile aluminium section—eliminating the need for bungs entirely for a cleaner, more streamlined look. To further enhance flexibility and ease of installation, we’re also introducing three brand-new frame options, each with integrated trims designed to accommodate a fully adjustable T-Post. The Slim Line shutter is the perfect blend of innovation, strength, and refined aesthetics—engineered to elevate both performance and style.

We are reinventing the 'British Made Shutter'
Our New Design
ANTI SCRATCH PAINT
Introducing anti-scratch coating that ensures your shutters maintain their pristine appearance. This new type is specifically engineered to resist scratches, meaning that even if metal objects touch the shutters, they won’t leave any unattractive marks behind.
FULLY REINFORCED LOUVRE
These louvres feature internal support made from 6063 aluminium alloy, which offers outstanding strength and longevity. Perfect for expansive windows or busy spaces, their reinforced design allows them to endure higher pressure and frequent use without compromising their shape.
SLIMMER STILE
We are reducing the size of our stiles and astragal by 10.8mm. This change creates additional space in the louvre area, enhancing light control and adjustable privacy. Additionally, we are decreasing the size of the square stile aluminium section. Still maintaining its strength, making it more visually appealing for all shutter styles, particularly the café style. Say goodbye to bungs!
INVISIBLE TILT
Typically, this Invisible Tilt System is a mechanism embedded in the stile on one side of the panel, featuring a rack-and-pinion structure.
At the end of each louver, there is a pinion, and these pinions are interconnected by racks, so that when you tilt one louver, the mechanism transfers the movement to the rest of the louvers.
This creates a clean and streamlined look without the need for a visible tilt rod in the centre.
FULLY ADJUSTABLE T-POST
Fixing a fitter's biggest headache—an inaccurately marked T-Post. We're excited to unveil our brand-new frames with trims that enable us to offer a fully adjustable T-Post. This means no more excuses or wasted time; you can easily reposition the bracket to your preferred measurements in just seconds, secure it with screws, cover with the trims, and you're all set.
Why Designed In Britain?
Our Designed in Britain product launch marks a new standard for quality, innovation, and performance—better than ever before. At British Made Shutters, we’ve combined expert local craftsmanship with customer-led design improvements to deliver shutters that are not only stylish and durable, but truly built with the British market in mind. This allows us to respond quickly to market trends, ensure superior quality control, and maintain clear communication with our customers throughout the process. The result? A smarter, stronger, and more refined shutter solution that reflects everything our brand stands for—trusted British design, unmatched reliability, and a product you can proudly stand behind.
Shutters save energy
The increasing energy costs are a hot topic, making it wise to consider ways to cut down on our usage. Did you know that windows account for 25-30% of energy consumption due to heat gain and loss? This is the perfect time to explore options for enhancing your home's energy efficiency. Our louvres are designed to be closed in an upright position, which allows you to control the airflow in a room and reduces condensation on the windows. Shutters not only add a touch of style but also serve a practical purpose by providing an extra layer of insulation, which can enhance the temperature and comfort levels in your home. For homes built after 2002, double glazing is a requirement to meet regulations and energy rating standards. By adding shutters to your windows, you essentially upgrade them from double glazing to a triple glazing level of efficiency.
New independent research by the University of Salford's Energy House Labs has demonstrated that shutters can reduce heat loss through windows by up to 28%
